These books feature endangered recovering animal species and begins with the comeback kids species that live off the coast of California, The Northern Elephant Seals, The Southern Sea Otter, and The California Brown Pelican. The full page photograhs by John D. Weigand are something you don't want to miss, and the poetry of Penelope Dyan completes the mix to the delight of everyone. Dyan has serveral books out that have been published by Bellissima that appeal to children and teens as well as to older readers.
