From the supplier: The United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit ruled in Flanagan v. Ahearn that the certification of a class action settlement against Fibreboard Corp and its insurers by a federal district court was proper and according to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. The settlement does not give plaintiffs the chance to opt out of the deal and pursue individual lawsuits. The court felt that the settlement was in the interest of all parties involved in the case.
