From the supplier: Worldwide losses in 1992 due to fake credit cards and charge cards amounted to $1.3 billion. An estimated 60% of these losses were due to the use of fake credit cards. Authorities in Hong Kong, which is notorious as an international center for credit card forgery, estimate that 70% of the information used to manufacture fake credit cards are illegally obtained from hotel staff, who are in the payroll of crime syndicates. Hotel operators should implement more vigilant measures to protect their guests from falling victims to fake credit- and charge-card syndicates.
